About the Logo

The new logo “畠” originates from the calligraphic signature of Hatakeyama Sokuō, inscribed at the opening of the Hatakeyama Memorial Museum of Fine Art. The unique design resembles a gourd, a symbol of prosperity, and its continuous single-stroke form made it an ideal choice for the museum’s new logo.
Like a gourd bearing many seeds, the logo embodies our wish to become a central figure in fostering a community of people who love the museum, as they come together to enjoy and learn through our activities.

The symbol's color is inspired by the museum’s garden, tea ceremony room, and matcha.
